Celebrating 10 years of real nappy love

In March this year, Nappy Ever After celebrated its 10th birthday!


Since 2003 Nappy Ever After has been providing cloth nappy advice, support and a nappy laundry service for Londoners. We're proud to say, we're still the only dedicated cloth nappy retail shop in Central London. In addition, we're a not-for-profit social enterprise so everything we do is to expand people's awareness of cloth nappies.

We started out as a very local cloth nappy laundry service, taking on our still current Chalton Street shop premises in May 2003. In 2004, in conjunction with Camden Council and WEN, we set up the first nappy voucher scheme in London (now known as Real Nappies for London). As our customers moved to home-washing, we added more real nappy brands and accessories to the shop, always on the look-out to stock ethical and organic items.

More than just a Shop

In 2008 we started distributing Bummis cloth nappies, a Canadian ethical brand of cloth nappies and accessories, in the UK. In 2010, we launched our online shop, selling a range of cloth nappies as well as nappy accessories, organic baby clothing, organic nursery items and fairtrade toys. We’ve run Nappuccinos in Hackney, nappy demos all over Camden and Islington, and started a nappy agent scheme for Londoners. And in the past year, we’ve begun to offer casual yet informative parenting classes for Londoners.

Waste Minimisation

We promote waste minimisation, green initiatives and familial parenting – all this while continuing to provide our nappy laundry service and face-to-face cloth nappy and parenting advice every week.

Looking to the Future

Over the last 10 years, we’ve adapted and changed our offering to meet the needs of the parents who come through our shop door or who we meet over the phone. In doing so, we’ve bucked the trend and continued to service the cloth nappying needs of Londoners and indeed some further afield.

We always have plans! This year we are focusing on funding to build our own eco-friendly laundry using Otex, an ozone washing and disinfection system. Watch out for our crowd-funding bid soon! Then we can expand our laundry service to more areas of London.

We’ve recently taken over the distribution of Rockin’ Green laundry products in the UK – our stock is on its way!

We’ve lots of events and workshops planned, such as TripleP parenting classes run by Real Nappies for London under the CANParent scheme, antenatal classes run by Maya Midwives, herbal medicine workshops for mothers and mothers-to-be, North London Sling Library launch and Nappy-free chat sessions.
