Support Shelterbox and Go Real
This Real Nappy Week we are encouraging people to raise money through their Real Nappy Week events and promotions. All money raised during the week will be split equally between disaster relief charity: ShelterBox and Real Nappy Week organisers Go Real.
In the past ten years, ShelterBox have provided desperately needed disaster relief to people in over 50 countries. Helping the victims of both natural and man-made disasters, ShelterBox deliver boxes of aid to those most in need. While most relief agencies focus on food and medical supplies, ShelterBox provide emergency shelter to those who have lost their homes – a ten man tent along with other essential survival equipment. Over 50,000 boxes had been sent out by ShelterBox by the end of 2009, and their aim for the future is to raise enough money to send 50,000 boxes per year.
Many of the natural disasters which ShelterBox have provided aid for are linked to climate change, such as typhoons, hurricanes, floods, and tsunamis. This year alone they have helped the victims of flooding in Kenya, Peru and Egypt. Using Real Nappies can help to reduce your impact on climate change, with up to 40% less carbon produced compared to disposable nappies

Go Real provides independent advice and information for parents on Real Nappies. We provide services such as the Go Real website, the nappy finder and a national helpline for parents. We promote Real Nappies nationally, organising events such as Real Nappy Week to ensure that information on Real Nappies is easily accessable. In addition we provide a suite of services to Local Authorities, retailers, manufacturers and voluntary groups to help them run services and effective promotions. We aim to increase the awareness of Real Nappies and also introduce services which allow low income families benefit from using Real Nappies. We are a not for profit organisation and do not receive any direct funding to support Go Real.
